Every quarter, students will be working on "Discovery Projects."
The Purpose of these projects is for the student to discover more about some of the concepts we learn this year.
Students will work individually or with a partner.
The guidelines for each project are:

2. After choosing a topic, your goal is to make a "3 in a row" or "bingo!" on the matrix below:
Knowledge
Define all necessary terms and tell how they work together to create the concept.

Application
Construct a visual representation of the concept.

Synthesis
Create a problem that could be solved by this concept. Then solve it.
|
Comprehension
Ask a “why” question about the topic and seek to answer it.

Evaluation
Mathematically prove why this concept works.

Analysis
Examine the usefulness of the topic by giving a real-world situation and describe the effectiveness of the concept as a tool.

Analysis
Compare this topic with another topic in our textbook using a venn-diagram.
|
Knowledge
Give a basic history of the topic. Include who first discovered it and when, the society or geographic location of the discovery, and other mathematicians who studied it.

Application
Show a step by step example of the concept and tell where you could skip steps without jeopardizing accuracy.
